The main aim of our publication is to introduce the remarkable scientific , cultural and geographical past and present of Hungary to all the Hungarian and foreign readers in a unique and entertaining way. why have we chosen the elements from Mendeleev’s periodic table for it? At first, it was only a game. We wanted to show it for ourselves that the abbreviations of the elements in the periodic table can be easily connected to a certain hungaricum; moreover, it entertains and teaches at the same time.We accomplished the task and this book is the evidence. Read it with pleasure – both Hungarians and foreigners.

Minden magyar ember tisztában van vele, hogy a magyar paprikához, a magyar gulyáshoz és a magyar Puskás Öcsihez semmi sem fogható széles e világon. Túlzás nélkül állíthatjuk azt is, hogy Hollywood második hivatalos nyelve egykor a magyar volt, a Nobel-díjas tudósok között pedig nagyítóval kell keresni azokat, akik nem Magyarországon születtek. Kiadványunk célja elsősorban az, hogy rendhagyó formában, egyszerre szórakoztatva és tanítva ismertessen meg minden magyar és nem magyar olvasót Magyarország valóban figyelemre méltó tudományos, kulturális, földrajzi múltjával és jelenével. És hogy miért éppen Mengyelejev periódusos rendszerének elemeit választottuk ennek bemutatására? Játéknak indult az egész. Magunknak szerettük volna bebizonyítani, hogy a táblázat alapelemeinek rövidítései könnyedén megfeleltethetőek egy-egy hungarikumnak, ráadásul mindez szórakoztat és tanít is egyben. A bizonyítás sikerült, bizonyíték rá ez a kötet. Forgassák élvezettel és haszonnal – magyarok és nem magyarok egyaránt.
